Tim Harakals self-taught hands are at one with the guitar strings, they have become an extension of his heart, soul, and spirit. Influenced by his favorite band Metallica, his music morphed into an acoustic art form with a pop-rock edge. Hes written and recorded 40+ songs during his college years, many times in lieu of going to class. He dropped out of his biology major with one semester to finish and began playing coffee shops, cafes, opera houses, pubs etc. in the greater Philadelphia area. Playing from a cache of 40+ original tunes with a nice balance of popular current and classic covers. He leaves his audiences feeling content, and is attracting an ever-expanding fan base. His easygoing demeanor shines through in his smooth verbal stylings as its calming properties evoke people to listen, think, and smile.
Percussionist/producer Julian Gavin or Jules is the live wire of the duo. The drums were the ideal musical outlet for his activity level since age 10. Jules high energy and passionate style couldnt differ more from Tims modest attitude, but they collide on stage to create a compelling and enjoyable spectacle. The fans always put it best; After their most recent beach tour on which they played at a boardwalk in Ocean City Maryland, one fan who bought their CD compared it to riding on a rainbow unicorn while drinking children's laughter from a goblet: Fantastic.
Tim Harakal has been featured as Cream of the Crop from Philly Rising. He was recently awarded the titles of Best Singer/Song Writer and Best Lyricist and has been featured numerous times in local print, television, and radio. The band, consisting of Tim and Jules, has claimed the titles of Best Acoustic Act and Best Duo. They were highlighted in an interview on Steel Stacks Live where they performed two songs, the single from their newly released independent album Big Things entitled Save Me and the ever-popular show closing anthem The Clock. At 24 years, Tim has achieved a balance in his life that comes out in his music. In a brief music career, Tim Harakal has played in coffee shops, cafes, and pubs from the Lehigh Valley to Philly to Reading, PA. Playing mainly from a cache of 40+ original tunes and a nice balance of covers, Tim leaves his audience feeling content. His easy going, friendly demeanor is calming. Tim has been a finalist in the Lehigh Valley Acoustic Performance in 07, 08, and won in 09 with the help of percussionist Jules Gavin, and would soon be recognized as Cream of the Crop at Philly Rising. Tim and Jules have been voted the valleys Best Acoustic Duo at the 2010 LVMAs; Together they have gained the respect of local musicians and fans whove had to the opportunity to catch their act.
